Rifle Mechanist (meme class, basically just press 1 and let the mech do the rest), very easy, can solo almost everything in open world (the only weakness of this class is underwater, since your mech won't swim with you lol, but grenades and bombs usually do the trick.) Warrior or Necro.
Chronomancer, Daredevil, Scrapper/holo (for skipping/fighting respectively it's just a build change for stealth gyro and smoke bomb), Soulbeast, Warrior. If you enjoy protracted fights and rely more on facetanking and sustain or a lot of kiting around: Mirage, Firebrand, Mechanist.

+1 for a charrdian. We are the best race and class combo. They has historically been a very stable class. Dragon hunter is a solid Pdps that sees a few minor tweaks through its time,i just wish longbow was usefull in end game content or at least a solid 2nd weapon to use compared to sword or septer. Firebrand has been less stable.

You guessed right. PvP in Guild Wars 2 is awesome for 2 main reasons: 1) You can play straight up from level 1. Gear is scaled in PvP so you can jump straight in, although I wouldn’t recommend it. 2) it’s basically 5vs5 Domination (for FPS gamers). 5 players versus 5 players, 3 points to hold, winner at 500 points. World vs World

Every other class has pretty good condition options. Ranger and Warrior would be (in my opinion) on the lower end, but Guardian, Revenent, Thief, Mesmer (Mirage), Elementalist and Necro all have multiple competitive builds for all game modes. If you are leaning toward solo condi class, I guess Scourge is the best.
